A 75-minute class devoted to reconnecting the upper and lower body via strengthening the pelvis, hips and core. Using numerous props to both support and challenge the body, we attend to bony rhythms and the muscular patterns that support them. The first portion of the class focuses on neural integration and stress reduction. The middle portion of the class is based on a ballet class with simple exercises to develop strength and mobility with control.  The final portion of the class includes some balance work while lying on a small ball.  You’ll leave the class focused but calm.

This 90-minute class is for all ages and abilities including athletes, fitness enthusiasts, senior citizens and those recovering from injuries.  We focus on creating fluidity and ease in the body through articulation of the spine and joints, focused breathing, variable movement rhythms, and visual and vestibular neural integration.  A large portion of the class is performed seated on stools, making it a wonderful option for those who are unable to stand for long periods of time. Bhante Sujatha, a 30+ year Buddhist Monk, is singularly focused on adding more love in the world.  Bhante teaches loving-kindness meditation to people around the globe for all those seeking the art of happiness and contentment.  His approach to meditation is deep and simple, bringing core Buddhist teachings to everyone in a way that is practical and easy to understand.  A joyful, radiant, funny and wildly energetic monk, Bhante will help you obtain peace that can only be found in deep silence.   He is originally from Sri Lanka and is the head monk / abbot of the Blue Lotus Buddhist Temple and Meditation Center in Woodstock, IL.  

Bhante believes his purpose is not only to teach meditation, but also, “teaching people how to be happy.”
